SARAJEVO SBERBANK HALF MARATHON CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Race: Sarajevo Sberbank Half Marathon 2020
Start Location: Ferhadija (Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures line)
Start Date and Time: Sunday 20.09.2020, at 9:00 am
To register and become an official participant in the Sarajevo Sberbank Half Marathon 2020, you are required to agree to the following conditions. These are standard for this kind of event and apply to all participants, so we ask that you read them carefully.
With their registration, participants acknowledge sole responsibility for reading and adhering to the conditions of the race, and for any risks that participation may incur. By signing up participants confirm that they are fit to complete the race, and waive the right to hold the organiser responsible in the event of accident or injury.
Registration is completed by filling in the registration form and paying the entry fee. The entry fee can be paid before the date stated on our website, or until the race reaches capacity. Both the registration form and competition fee must be received for registration to be valid.
Participation is restricted to the first 1.500 runners to register and pay the entry fee. Subsequent applicants will be added to a waiting list, and notified if a running number becomes available.
The entry fee can be paid until the date stated on our website, provided the limit of 1.500 participants has not been reached.
COLLECTION OF RUNNING NUMBERS
Running numbers can be collected at the place and time published on our website.
The collection of running numbers immediately before the race is only possible for runners from outside Sarajevo, and only by prior arrangement via an email sent to: email@example.com.
In the event that a runner cannot collect his/her own running number, a third party can collect it in his/her place upon the presentation of the runner's identification documents or confirmation of his/her date of birth.
In case of groups, it's upon the representative of the group to check that all race packs have been delivered before leaving the registration site.
The allotted time for completing the race is 3 hours.
After this time normal traffic will resume along the route, so remaining participants are asked to complete the race by walking or running on the pavement.
Participants who do not finish the race within the allotted time will receive the status DNF (Did Not Finish) in the final results, as they did not finish the race according to the conditions of entry.
The organisers cannot guarantee the availability of refreshments or other benefits to participants who exceed the allotted time.
Participants will receive a running number with a timing chip. The number must be worn on the chest, and must be visible for the duration of the race. Participants must wear the timing chip if they want their time to be recorded and published in the race results.
There will be a secure cloakroom at the start/finish line where runners can leave their personal items before the race. Runners are solely responsible for items left in the cloakroom.
The roads will be closed to traffic along the route before and during the race, and a police vehicle will precede the leading group of runners.
Refreshments will be provided to participants at the finish line after the race.
The event organiser is responsible for ensuring professional medical assistance if required.
All runners are obliged to respect the conditions of entry, and to respect the other participants, event monitors, volunteers, and other organisational staff.
Runners are obliged to consider the wellbeing of other participants, and of the public. Any acts of abuse by a runner will result in direct and irrevocable disqualification and removal from the race.
CANCELLATION OF PARTICIPATION IN THE RACE
If the runner wishes to cancel his/her participation in the race, he/she must notify the race organiser as soon as possible
In case of cancellation the race entry fee will not be refunded. If a registered participant is unable to compete in the race, his/her entry fee may be transferred to another participant up to 14 days before the race. After this time it will not be possible to change participants’ personal details.
In the event that a force majeure over which the organiser has no control (such as a weather-related incident or other unseen occurrence) causes the cancellation of the event, changes to the event schedule, or any other change that deviates from the published information, the race entry fee will not be refunded. Participants are not entitled to compensation and/or reimbursement of funds. The organiser may allow an alternative event to take place on a different date, to the extent that this is possible.
Participants will be disqualified for: using any means of transport during the race; deviating from the marked route; exchanging running numbers; exhibiting unsporting behaviour; and disrespecting organisers' decisions.
It is strictly forbidden to display any symbols inciting to hatred based on national identity, religious beliefs, race, gender, sexual orientation, age or other. NGO Marathon Sarajevo reserves the right to disqualify participants who do not comply with these guidelines and/or take other measures it deems necessary.
Unofficial results will be published immediately after the race on the NGO Marathon Sarajevo facebook page and website. Participants will have the right to appeal the unofficial results for three days after publication. During those three days, participants can lodge appeals via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org. After this time the results will become official.
USE OF MEDIA MATERIAL
By registering for the race, participants agree that event organisers have the right to use photographs and videos taken before, during and after the race for their own needs, and for event promotion. All photographs and video and audio material taken of runners on behalf of the organisers at the event remain the property of the organiser. The participants waive all rights to this material and any financial compensation related to its use.
PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
The organiser is responsible for the protection of all personal data collected during registration for the race. The only personal information that will be made publically available is the list of participants and results, which will contain participants' given names and surnames.
Participants' email addresses will be used for the purpose of communication relating to this race or other races organised by NGO Marathon Sarajevo.
All other data will be used solely for statistical purposes.
