RULE BOOK SARAJEVO HALF MARATHON
Race: Sarajevo Half Marathon 2024
Place of the event: Marijin Dvor (Zmaja od Bosne Street)
Time and date of the event: Sunday, 21.09.2025. at 8:30 am
In order to register and officially become a participant of the Sarajevo Half Marathon, you must confirm that you agree with the following rules. The rules are common for events of this type and apply to all participants, so please read them carefully.
By registering and participating, all participants confirm that they are taking part in the race at their own risk, that they are familiar with the rules of the race that they will follow and that they are aware of the risks that running can carry. By registering for the race, the participant waives the possibility of transferring responsibility to the race organizer and confirms his / her satisfactory health condition and readiness to finish the race.
REGISTRATION
Registration is complete by filling out the registration form and paying the entry fee. The entry fee can be paid until the date specified on the website or until the race capacity is full. Registration for the race is not valid only by registration or only by payment.
GETTING NUMBERS
The numbers are picked up at the place and time listed on the race website.
Picking up the number before the race is possible only for runners outside Sarajevo with prior notice by e-mail to info@sarajevomarathon.ba.
If the runner is unable to pick up his / her start number, the other person may do so for him / her by showing the runner's identity document or by confirming the date of birth.
In the case of group registrations and taking over starter packages, the group leader is obliged to check that the packages for all members of his group have been delivered to him before leaving the registration point.
TIME LIMIT
The limit for finishing the race is 3 hours.
After the time limit expires, traffic will be opened, and all participants who happen to be on the track after the time limit expires will be asked to finish the race by running or walking on the sidewalk.
It is considered that participants who exceed the time limit have not completed the race according to the rules, and their status in the results will be DNF (Did Not Finish).
For runners who exceed the time limit, the organizer cannot guarantee the availability of refreshments or other benefits and facilities intended for participants.
RACE
All participants will receive a start number with a timing chip. The start number is placed exclusively on the chest and must be visible throughout the race. Participants should wear a timing chip if they want their time to be recorded and published in the results.
In the start / finish zone, a locker room is provided where runners can store their personal belongings before the race. Runners leave their belongings in the wardrobe at their own risk.
Before and during the race, the traffic will be closed and the presence of a police vehicle was ensured in front of the leading group of runners.
Refreshments for participants after the race are provided in the finish area.
The organizer of the event is obliged to provide professional medical assistance in case of need.
All runners are obliged to respect the rules of the race, and to respect other participants, stewards, volunteers and staff in charge of organizing the race.
All competitors are obliged to take care of the health of other participants, as well as the audience. Any act of violence leads to direct and irrevocable disqualification of the competitor and removal from the track.
CANCELLATION OF THE RACE PARTICIPATION
In case of cancellation, the runner is obliged to inform the organizer as soon as possible.
In case of cancellation, the entry fee is non-refundable. If the person who registered for the race cannot compete, he can transfer his entry fee to another person no later than 14 days before the race, after which it will no longer be possible to change the runner's data.
If due to force majeure, which by definition the organizer cannot influence (weather, unforeseen events), the race is canceled, changes in the schedule of events and / or any other change that deviates from the published information, the paid entry fee is not refundable . The participant is not entitled to compensation and / or refund. The organizer will allow the alternative event to take place, if possible, on another date, to the extent possible.
DISQUALIFICATION
Participants will be disqualified in case of using any means of transport during the race, moving out of the marked race track, changing participant numbers, unsportsmanlike conduct and disrespecting the decisions of the organizers.
It is forbidden and punishable to display symbols that incite hatred on national, religious, racial, sexual, sexual, age or any other grounds. Marathon reserves the right to disqualify participants who violate this point and / or take other measures it deems necessary.
RESULTS
Unofficial results will be published after the race on the Facebook page and on the website of the Sarajevo Marathon Association. The right to appeal lasts for three days after the announcement of the unofficial results. During these three days, participants can report their complaints via e-mail to info@sarajevomarathon.ba. Upon expiration of the right of appeal, the results become official.
USE OF MEDIA MATERIALS
By registering for the race, the participant agrees that the organizer may use photos and videos taken during, before and after the race for their internal needs and the needs of event promotion. All photos, as well as video and audio recordings of competitors taken by the organizers as part of the race are the property of the organizers, and the participant waives all rights to the same as well as any fees related to the use of these materials.
PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
The organizer undertakes to protect all personal data collected during the registration for the race. The only personal information that will be publicly available on the list of participants and in the results is the name and surname.
The e-mail address will be used for the purpose of communication with participants related to the race itself or for other races organized by the Association Marathon Sarajevo and RMC Banja Luka.
All other data will be processed exclusively for statistical purposes.
